Will it be a brand new supplement to help relieve your unwanted weight loss woes? My gut explained, perhaps not, but I chose to go on a deeper look regardless.
In a quick glance, this reminds me lots of garcinia cambogia, which I reviewed at the end of May. My stance is definitely these particular so named “miracle drugs” are usually a load of bogus crap. It doesn’t appear to be the study was that well administered, so far as I can tell. Further, they took 30 subjects and split them into two groups of 15. Plus a sample of 15 is just not precisely what is considered statistically significant. This means that at a small sample size, the final results may too be due to random chance.
The next study I discovered was posted from the Journal from the Internal Society of Sports Nutrition. Longest title ever. Researchers studied the results of Forskolin supplementation on the human body composition of 23 females. Again, not statistically significant. The participants were either administered a similar 10% Forskolin supplement or even a placebo. Here though, the result was that there were no significant differences, and that Forskolin doesn’t seem to promote weight reduction.
Hence the two studies contradict each other somewhat, but both seem poorly administered.
The investigation around Forskolin is either one particular study, or observational only. As such, more research is necessary to validate any of the above claims. And so the claims aren’t very strong.
As PubMed Health says: “One trial is rarely enough to offer definite answers. Later trials sometimes confirm early results-and often come up with conflicting results. So researchers search for, after which analyze, all of the trials who have studied particular questions”.
Total of two trials from two studies – not so conclusive should you ask me.
