The name “iPad” Past Present in Brazil in the Two Last Year

iPad is already able to attract the attention of gadget users shortly after launch. But apparently, the name iPad has been present in Brazil first.

Two years ago, quoted by the Straits Times, Tuesday (4/13/2010), a company already sells the device iPad. But it’s not as sold tablet PCs iPad, but the heartbeat trigger technology (defibrillators) are commonly used in hospitals.

Trademarks called iPad defibrillators in Brazil it has been registered on behalf of a company called Transform Tecnologia de Ponta, although the device is produced in South Korea.

“We’ve been using this brand since two years ago and this brand has been registered on the National Industrial Property Institute in Brazil in the year 2009. No one from Apple who contact us for the use of the trademark,” said the head of sales iPad Alathea Silva.

According to Silva, the Brazilian legal entity will protect copyright use of the trademark but the problem is likely to be handled by a Korean company that makes these defbrillator, CU Medical Systems Inc.

The news that blow, Apple is currently trying to negotiate with the owner’s name to the INPI iPad through its representative in the IP Application Development. This case is targeted to be completed by the end of May. If this bid fails, then Apple should buy the name.
