Netbook Will Be ‘moved’ By The Tablet PC in 2012

Technology News - Tablet computers, including the type iPad, predicted to be able to defeat the netbook dominance within the next two years in the U.S..

This was conveyed by the research company Forrester Research through its report entitled ‘The U.S. Consumer PC Market in 2015′. Even according to them, the desktop market share will be smaller in the past five years into the future.

“The number of overall PC unit sales will increase 52 percent within the next five years. Of the total of these categories, the desktop will have a contribution to an increasingly shrinking,” said Forrester Research analyst Sarah Rotman Epps, as quoted by Information Week, Monday (6/20/2010).

According to Sarah, tablet computer sales will beat netbook sales later in the year 2012. Yet during this netbook is an affordable mini laptop, which is designed just for email, web browsing, and viewing content that is not so heavy. Netbook has become kind of a PC with the greatest growth since emerged into the market in 2007. Even sales of netbook laptops able to help our vendors to survive in the midst of economic recession.

Analysts say if the number of applications currently being developed to run on the newest type of tablet called Slates. Slates will be increasingly used to predict and encourage greater sales.

In 2015, sales will beat Slates netbook and desktop. But not necessarily eliminate both types of computers that last mentioned. Section, 3D content, movies and games, will create a desktop stand for a while.

“In 2015, the tablet will contribute approximately 23 percent of the total consumer PC sales. The laptop will be replacing the position as the largest contribution in the total PC sales,” said Forrester analyst.
