Skype ‘downloaded’ by 5 Million of iPhone Users

Software News – Approximately five million iPhone users expected to have downloaded the Skype application of the new 3G released last week. Skype Web applications enables our customers to make skype calls via operator’s 3G network, previously they could only use the service using Wi-Fi.

“The application has been downloaded millions of people today, and it was a positive thing,” said Russ Shaw, Skype’s general manager for mobile, as reported by Reuters on Wednesday (6/03/2010).

Shaw said the area most widely downloaded them, Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.

But success is also followed by the number of complaints from users. Since Skype will also be on the tariff for users of 3G services skype in the next few years.

During the time known as Skype-based VoIP phone service providers that do not charge fees to customers.

“We need to charge customers so that we can provide customers with high quality as well as our investment return for the 3G Skype,” said Shaw.

But he was reluctant to provide specific data about the price to be charged to the customer.
