Consumers will ‘benefit’ with Sophisticated Barcode

Software News – Barcode once only used by some supermarkets for convenience in checking the price. But now, it is estimated barcode will widen its use and more advanced course.

Currently known as the QR barcode has been used more than just checking the price, look at just some of the barcode affixed on certain products if the scan through a certain device can display Web sites, photos or videos related to the advertiser.

For example, Google Inc. provides a sticker with a QR code that allows passers-by can scan. Who carried a link to the mobile version of the Google page where businesses can post coupons and information about themselves.

So not surprisingly, the digital code can lead to other ways to connect with customers in ways that business can measure and control it. That can help them target ads to people who are most likely to respond to their requests.

Through the barcode can represent data both horizontally and vertically. That means they can include more information in smaller spaces, and applications in mobile scanner can help computers to find information without having to ask permission to the database.

Google has been using QR codes since late last year to help promote the hundreds of thousands of businesses in the local listing service, known as Google Places. Similarly quoted by the AP, Monday (07/06/2010).

By Ted Hong, Fandango’s chief marketing officer, said the company wanted to try the service because more and more people access the bar codes on their mobile phones. And most likely in the future bar code can be a legitimate tool to replace the match ticket, for example.

Michael Surtees, 32, a Web designer who recently tried a new method of this ticket in New York, said it was much easier than printing tickets at home because he always has the iPhone, which was taken elsewhere. “Digital World is very useful for us,” he said.
