Juniper and NSN founded New Company

Juniper Networks, Inc.., A company engaged in the field of high-performance network, and Nokia Siemens Networks, a specialist provider of telecommunications services announced that it has received approval to establish joint ventures in the carrier Ethernet market.

The joint venture is to offer carrier Ethernet solutions for mobile backhaul, business and residential broadband networks. Officially founded in Amsterdam by the name ‘Carrier Ethernet Solutions BV’, the division of ownership of this joint venture is 60 per cent will be owned by Juniper Networks, and 40 percent by Nokia Siemens Networks.

John Stewart who previously served as Vice President and general manager of the unit of mobility and circulation of business competition in the Juniper Networks will lead this joint venture as Chief Executive Officer. The Ton van den Boom who previously was a senior financial manager in the Nokia Siemens Networks, will occupy the position of Chief Financial Officer.

This new company will be supervised by a board headed by Manoj Leelanivas, Senior Vice President and general manager of the business unit edge and aggregation at Juniper Networks. While Bernd Schumacher, head of broadband connectivity solutions at Nokia Siemens Networks will occupy the position of Vice Chairman.

The solution presented consists of the Juniper Networks MX Series Ethernet Services Routers and Nokia Siemens Networks’ Carrier A-series Ethernet Switches and network management systems end-to-end, including ‘point and click’. This joint venture will integrate the components into a proven solution. While the new solution is planned to be introduced by the two companies began in the first quarter of 2010.
