Nokia ‘Switch to’ Software Company

Mobile Technology News – Never call the Nokia as phone manufacturer of the world again because this time the company is called as a producer of software.

“Our future (Nokia-ed) is in the software, not hardware,” said Head of Nokia Marketing Asia Pacific, Will Harris, told Computerworld Australia that was launched on Friday (06/25/2010).

Harris also added that Nokia is starting steps will be presented her with a handheld device with a variety of operating system platform, that platform with the Symbian Series 60 Symbian 3rd and Symbian 4th. And that no longer is, MeeGo which is based on open source OS.

Once complete, Nokia will only have three smartphone platforms for the entire fleet consists of Series 40, 4 and MeeGo Symbian, which is open to the construction of a third party through the Qt platform.

“We can effectively start all devices on the same day because they all use the same platform,” said Harris.

“Leap for us is the presence of N97 to N97 mini, which required much time to get software that works on both devices,” he added.

Nokia transition to a software company looks back now announced cooperation with Microsoft. Nokia will provide the messaging service that clients are fully supported by Office Communications Server client.

Clearly, the firm is looking increasingly working together with communities to develop better software.
