Vietnam ‘build’ Social Networking Site

Internet News – Vietnam’s communist government to develop a project to create a social networking site in the country. The aim, to dispel the influence of these sites from overseas such as Facebook and Google.

Internet users in Vietnam now, faced with rules that restrict freedom of expression in cyberspace. Communist governments were in power today, prohibits Internet users who criticized the government through the internet site.

Cracker-Cracker is also known to frequently break the Vietnamese government sites and write messages that criticize the government. SMH quoted thus, Friday (05/21/2010).

Artificial social networking development project in the country would begin on Monday. This project is the largest IT project in Vietnam.

“Some people have asked me to launch a special network for Vietnam, I was even asked to close the Google and Yahoo, and I know that’s not true, we are ready to make a healthy competition,” said Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications, Le Doan Hop.

Le Doan optimistic that Internet users in Vietnam who would prefer a site in accordance with the cultural and local values of Vietnam.

The government revealed that currently, 25 percent of Vietnamese use the Internet. Vietnam is also known as the country’s most vigorous development in the field of information and communication technology (ICT).

It is said Le Doan, Facebook users in Vietnam grew rapidly and surely they must also have an alternative site outside the artificial Mark Zuckerberg. The site is located at goonline.vn plans are expected to suck up 50 percent of Internet users in Vietnam.
