Twitter Invite User to Fight Spam

Now Twitter has added new feature on they micro blogging site service, it’s “Report as spam”. The move comes as an attempt to get help from users in dealing with spam. Twitter spokesman wrote “Users now can help fight spam by letting us know if there is a profile that they need to be questioned,” as quoted from their blogs, 16/October/2009.

“now, Users are just clicking on the button ‘Report as spam’ under the Action section in the sidebar profile. After that the Trust and Safety team we will check whether there needs to be done, “the spokesman wrote.

To prevent spam users take advantage of this feature as a weapon to malign their users who do not like, Twitter is ready. “There is no automatic action to be taken in response to the user who reported that another user is a spammer,” he said.

Thus, users who click on the ‘Report as Spam’ to a another user’s profile will also find that their profile is blocked from following or the possibility to make reply to the user.

Twitter decision to add the ‘Report as Spam’ is a way to cope with the flood of corporate accounts to spam their services. As previously our preached, Twitter is often used to steal user information. In addition, users often click on a URL shortening also be the target of cyber criminals.
