The number of Facebook users like the U.S. Population

Users of social network Facebook has reached 300 million people, roughly equivalent to the population of the United States. “The number of users is very much, but we’re thinking of is that we’ve just begun to reach our goal, namely to connect every person,” said Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s Chief Executive Officer on his blog, Tuesday.

As our quotes from Information Week, 17 September 2009, the numbers represent 300 million users around the world. Facebook still has plenty of room to increase the number of users in the U.S. that now reaches 90 million users.

According to Zuckerberg, Facebook is to improve the appearance of the key to increasing penetration of these sites.

“Because we want to facilitate and speed up the connection, one of the things we have to think about is how to make Facebook much faster performance and more efficient, enabling users increases,” said Zuckerberg.

That means, Facebook IT team has a big job behind the scenes. “We face many important challenges and fun that makes us think again about the current system in order to send information through the Web,” said Zuckerberg.

“The ratio of Facebook users with Facebook workers showed that a Facebook engineer responsible for more than one million users,” he said.

Facebook is experimenting with a lighter version. Version is easier for users who only want to access the tools and basic services.

Facebook Lite was launched last week in the U.S. and India. In the coming weeks, Facebook will introduce additional displays for Facebook Lite and requested feedback from users.
