Safari Browser ‘displaced’ By The OS Chrome

Internet News- For the first time,Google Chrome surpassed Safari Internet browser market in the U.S.. Google’s third position as the most widely used browser in the U.S.

“This is a significant achievement for Google, which start everything from zero to 10 per cent of authorities in the U.S. browser market share within less than two years,” said Aodahn Cullen StatCounter CEO, as quoted by the Straits Times, Tuesday (6/29/ 2010).

According to Cullen, this achievement is something quite interesting considering Google as long as it’s always been feuding with Apple, both in the mobile browser market as well. If the Google browser to compete tightly with Apple Safari then Google’s Android operating system must be competitive with the iPhone OS.

Found StatCounter, Chrome now has control of approximately 8.97 percent of browser market in the U.S., located on the Safari with 8.88 percent. Within two months, Safari has lost approximately 1.5 percent market share in the U.S..

For the top positions, Internet Explorer still dominates with a market share of approximately 52 percent. Meanwhile, Mozilla’s browser, Firefox occupy second place with 28.48 per cent marketshare.

In the global browser market, Chrome also ranked third with 9.44 percent marketshare. Firefox came second with 31 percent market share, and Microsoft Internet Explorer in the top position with 52.78 percent.
