Now the Internet has become Multilingual

Organizations that deal with Internet domain name (ICANN) has approved a policy to allow the writing of url with non-latin characters.

Quoted Big News Network, Saturday (october,31,2009), a policy to allow globally domain name countries that have different characters writing letters, such as China, Arab and Latin Greek letters, to continue to use the Internet and can be accessed globally .

“Internet address is currently limited to using Latin script characters, from A to Z . The program, which we named the Fast Track will allow the use of different character, which currently amounted to 100,000 characters, for use in the writing domain name. ICANN itself has been doing research since 2000. In these studies concluded that each country should have their own domain names (International Domain Name / IND) and allow different character used in the writing domain. This is to facilitate world internet users to access information mutually. According to the ISO 3166-1 standard, there are currently 246 countries listed as the owner of a different Internet code.

Once approved, the program will apply fastest November 16 this year.
