Internet Addiction can Make depression

internet_addictSurfing in cyberspace for long can a person reveals the dark side. The more a person addicted to the Internet, the more he will be depressed.

Results of the study Catriona Morrison and his team from the University of Leeds, England found that the longer spend time surfing in cyberspace, will increasingly lead to unhappiness in a person.

Adverse impacts on those affected by psychological depression and Internet addiction. Most likely because people are addicted to the Internet virtual world has considered a substitute for their normal activities daily.

“The Internet plays a huge role in modern life. But keep in mind also the benefit of the Internet was not free from the dark side of him,” Morrison said as quoted by the Daily Mail, Friday (5/2/2010).

In a study involving 1319 participants, the researchers interviewed people aged between 16 to 51 years. They were asked to assess the level of dependence on the Internet and resulting depression.

“There is a very high correspondence between the long time it takes to surf with raised levels of depression,” said Morrison.

The average level of depression they are known to five times higher than those who are not addicted to the internet. This study also found that Internet addicts who are 21 years of age spend more time to visit porn sites, online games and online communities.
