Finally Google to be ‘friends’ again with China

May 14, 2010

Internet News – Google CEO Eric Schmidt seems more interested in keeping the peace with China than with Apple Inc and rival in the mobile market segment that is growing rapidly.

Because Schmidt has made several conversations with representatives from the government of China concerning the future of his company at the Bamboo Curtain country. Especially this time Google interested in developing smart mobile market in the country.

As is known, Google is arguing with officials of China during the two months before finding a way to stop the censorship of its search results in the country without leaving one of the main market their Internet. Since late March, Google has been directing the search query from mainland China to Hong Kong.

Although some investors worried the decision would make Google’s business was limping, but Schmidt believes that this way seems to be stabilizing. However, he warned that things could change quickly if the government of China becomes more ‘antagonistic’.

“As is known, the company wants to work with all software developers and producers of handheld devices who want to use the Android operating system,” he said, as quoted by the Seattle PI, Friday (05/14/2010).

And according to Schmidt, maintaining good relations with China after the departure of units of the Google search engine, does not make them a chink in the Android-based smart phone market. “It’s not a problem,” he said.

The tension between Google and Apple have been developing since they compete to sell their mobile devices, services and advertising.
