Block Google, WSJ Will loss for 25% traffic
November 10, 2009Rupert Murdoch efforts to block Google in order not to publish news Wall Street Journal (WSJ) is predicted to reduce traffic.
Quoted from TechCrunch, Tuesday (october/10/2009), a research firm Hitwise found that the total visitor traffic existing WSJ each day, approximately 25 percent is contributed from indexing Google and Google News. If the further breakdown, the contribution of Google News for 12 percent and Google search approximately 15 percent.
Even on TechCrunch prediction, approximately 44 percent of visitors WSJ are people who are new to the site. Introduction of this WSJ also estimated because of Google search engine. This is a proof if Google is an important role in the progress of the WSJ.
Unfortunately, the owner of News Corp. is more like a loyal reader rather than to rely on Google. “For us, it would be better if only a few people who visit our site as long as they pay,” said Murdoch.
