75,000 Computers in the World Infected by Virus

Some kind of new computer virus known to infect nearly 2500 of 75,000 computers in organizations around the world. This data is presented by computer security firms and Internet NetWitness. This computer infections also penetrated into account the social networking site user’s computer.

Latest virus called ‘kneber botnet’ is gathering passwords to access online financial systems, social networking sites and email systems from a computer virus and report that information gets to the hacker.

“Botnet is a ‘force’ infected computers controlled by hackers who can remotely through a computer center,” said Chief Executive NetWitness spokesman Amit Yoran as quoted by Reuters on Friday (19/2/2010).

Yoran said, the kind of attack was first discovered in January. Further investigation is conducted to other Internet security firm, Herndon reveals there are many government systems are affected by the attacks, including the 68,000 log data and access to email systems, online banking sites, Yahoo, Hotmail, and social networks like Facebook.

“Protection against viruses conventional way does not seem enough to ward off attacks or viruses Kneber other, more sophisticated,” said Yoran.
