On the mainboard present generation, many are already equipped with RAID features, especially in hi-end mainboard. However, perhaps many of the viewers of this blog who do not know or understand about the technology.

RAID, Redundant Array of inexpensive (Independent) Disks, is a system composed of several hard drive / drives. Simply put, we used to make several partitions in one disk. Now, with RAID, you can create a partition from a disk.

RAID can be subdivided in 2 of Hardware RAID and software RAID, Hardware RAID For features, the motherboard of your server must support PCI64bit (2x longer socketnya than regular PCI, not PCI-X yes) and of course RAID card and hard drive. Software RAID Unntuk standard supported by the server OS like Windows2000, Windows2003Server, Windows2008server and linux.

many possibilities existing RAID configuration, but are often used are: RAID 0 (splits data down into fragments which are written to multiple drives simultaneously.), RAID 1 (writes data to two (or more) drives simultaneously hence introducing a level of redundancy.) and RAID 5 (allows increased performance through striping as well as increased reliability through distributed parity). read more about what is Raid from the ibizdir as Business Directory & Guide site.
